Steve Dimmer, President and CEO

With 30 years of experience founding and building medical technology companies, Steve Dimmer has brought numerous medical device innovations from concept to commercialization. He recently served as an entrepreneur-in-residence for Ethicon, Inc. a Johnson & Johnson Company. He co-founded and served as CEO of Nuvaira, a catheter-based therapy for COPD and asthma currently being evaluated in a sham-controlled pivotal trial. Earlier, Steve was a founder and vice president of research and development at Calypso Medical (acquired by Varian). Steve holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from San Diego State University, a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Washington, Foster School of Business, and has 125+ U.S. patents granted or pending.

Believing there was a better way to repair pelvic fractures, Dr. Robert Meek is the visionary behind the CurvaFix concept. He currently chairs the surgeon advisory board. Dr. Meek is a Clinical Professor Emeritus at the University of British Columbia, where he has been a member of the Faculty of Medicine for 45 years. In the early ‘80s he founded and became the first Head of the University and Vancouver General Divisions of Orthopaedic Trauma. At the Vancouver General Hospital, he held positions as President of the Medical Staff, Chief of Medical Staff and sat on the Board of Trustees. He is a member of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association which honored him with the Dr. John Border Lectureship. He served on the AO Foundation Board of Trustees and has held positions on the editorial boards of the Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma and INJURY.

Lorraine Marshall Wright, Consulting VP, Marketing

 

Former chief marketing officer, Calypso Medical, 25+ yrs. med device, RN, BSN, MBA

 

Possessing a passion for early stage product development, Lorraine Marshall Wright joined CurvaFix as consulting vice president of marketing. She brings more than 25 years of experience in medical device marketing in implantables, catheters, robotics, electromagnetic tracking and imaging. Her clients have included Nuvaira, Hansen Medical (Auris Health), Intuitive Surgical, Advanced Bionics, and Johnson & Johnson. Her executive positions have included global marketing roles at Philips, Acuson (Siemens) and Calypso Medical (Varian). Lorraine holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Mount St. Mary’s University and a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Southern California.

Carly Thaler, Director, Research and Development

 

20+ years mechanical engineering product development, BSE, MSE, PE

 

Bringing more than 20 years of experience in mechanical engineering product development, Carly Thaler oversees research and development for CurvaFix rodscrews and instruments. Prior to joining CurvaFix, Carly led a team at Cardiac Dimensions, Inc. overseeing successful projects from concept through clinical trials. Earlier in her career, she spent several years working on design and development of a variety of orthopedic implants. Carly holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Harvey Mudd College, a Master of Science in Bioengineering from the University of California, San Diego and a Professional Engineer designation in mechanical engineering from the state of California.
